The incentive program reinforces regular attendance and dedication to classes for our students.
The Student Incentives Store has diapers, wipes, baby clothes, age appropriate toys and books, car seats, maternity clothes - the things that every mother needs to care for the well-being and development of her infant or young child. All the items in the store are donated.
The incentive program reinforces the idea that school is our students' "work" and that regular attendance and dedication to their classes is the single most important thing they can do to provide for their child and future.
The girls have the potential to earn up to $170 dollars a month in "Booth Bucks" for things like good attendance and by participating in social services provided by the Army. The girls can then use these earnings in this store to buy things they might need for themselves or for their babies. In addition to being able to buy a variety of items, the girls are also required to purchase a specific amount of diapers and wipes each week. This gives the girls an understanding of the significant financial commitment that comes with having a child.
Most of the items are priced equivalent to thrift store pricing, to give a realistic idea of what they need to earn, at a minimum, to be able to care for their child.
If you would like to donate to the Incentive Store, please consider giving any of the items listed below:
